A planned Phase 1 family experience

Space and history to explore together.

Family Explorer is being planned around TransitSatellite’s existing space, satellite, and launch content, with shared journeys through history. This page describes the plan; family profiles and activities are not available yet.

Guardian-managed family profiles

The current plan is for a guardian to manage up to five family profiles, with children unable to change guardian content settings.

Planned

A shared library of journeys

Families can explore the existing space, satellite, and launch library alongside historical transportation journeys.

Planned

Activities and collections

Planned family features include interactive expeditions, shared collections or passports, weekly discoveries, badges, and activity packs.

Planned

Free guardian controls

Keep family content settings simple.

  • Basic parental content controls are intended to remain free.
  • Signed-out visitors use the G-level default.
  • A logged-in guardian will be able to choose age-appropriate content in a simple setting; a child profile will not be able to change that choice.

These guardian profile and content-setting controls are planned and are not available yet.

Paid Family Explorer · planned

Shared adventures, with no price announced.

The paid family plan is being shaped around meaningful family benefits. Up to five profiles is the current concept; pricing and final features have not been announced.

Phase 1 shared journey topics

  • • Rio Grande railroad history
  • • Titanic
  • • Endurance
  • • Amelia Earhart
  • • Columbus

These historical experiences are rollout topics under preparation. Their stories and activities will be released after content review.

Family discovery and teacher tools stay separate.

Teacher profiles retain grade bands, lessons, teaching materials, and classroom tools. Family Explorer does not create a second teacher portal. Live vehicle or satellite tracking is outside this first phase and will not be represented as available without a separately approved data source.

A future live-data add-on would be considered only after provider costs, licensing, market pricing, demand, and usage safeguards are established.
